In 1982 in the midst of civil unrest in Nicaragua, Sister Dolores returned to the United States working in turn as a social worker at the Place 2B in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and as a teacher at St. Francis School in Gallup, New Mexico. Patricia was born in Riverdale, New York, on March 27, 1933, to William Scanlan and Irene Magill Scanlan.
